The Via Clodia was an ancient Etruscan-Roman road.
His track starts in Rome and arrives in Saturnia crossing the province of Viterbo and Grosseto.
In the next posts entitled “Etruscan Routes” you will find some suggestions to start this fascinating journey that will bring you into contact with a world that existed 2,500 years ago.
Antica Via Clodia – Marturanum Park of Barbarano R.
In the unmistakable landscape of southern Tuscia the Park manages and protects a set of ravines dug by torrents in the tuff and clay hills with woods and pastures. Thanks to the low population density of the area and the morphology of the places it is a wild area. It is very exciting to discover the traces that the Etruscan people left hidden in the woods.
The routes that we recommend to take, suitable for everyone, are those that lead to the Necropolis of S. Giuliano and the path of S. Simone. The presence of a stream will allow you to cool off and enjoy the beauty of places rich in archaeological finds and of an explosive nature.
