Villas and Palaces – Palazzo Altieri Oriolo Romano

The Palazzo Altieri was built during the years 1578-1585 by the will of Giorgio III Santa Croce. Three families historically owned the palace: the Santa Croce from the foundation 1578 to 1604, the Orsini from 1604 to 1671, the Altieri from 1671 to 1971. The Museum is divided into 14 rooms, the Chapel of St. Maximus by the Orsini, and the Gallery of the Popes.  In a stately home the garden could not be missing to give it the complete connotation of a patrician villa of about 8 hectares with the presence of ancient trees.

Antica Via Clodia – Territory of Blera

The ancient Etruscan village of Plaise, today Blera, together with the sites of Grotta Porcina, San Giovenale and Luni sul Mignone, make up one of the most important finds in all of Tuscia.
A collection of necropolises, villages and palaces that will surprise for their location in areas of environmental value.
Luni sul Mignone is located along the abandoned section of the Capranica – Civitavecchia railway, now used for trekking, cycle tourism and can also be reached via a dirt road by car.
Nearby is an iron bridge that crosses the river Mignone which makes the landscape unique and very suggestive.

Antica Via Clodia – Marturanum Park of Barbarano R.

In the unmistakable landscape of southern Tuscia the Park manages and protects a set of ravines dug by torrents in the tuff and clay hills with woods and pastures. Thanks to the low population density of the area and the morphology of the places it is a wild area. It is very exciting to discover the traces that the Etruscan people left hidden in the woods.
The routes that we recommend to take, suitable for everyone, are those that lead to the Necropolis of S. Giuliano and the path of S. Simone. The presence of a stream will allow you to cool off and enjoy the beauty of places rich in archaeological finds and of an explosive nature.
